Volunteer Opportunities How can you be involved in the excitement of Minocqua Winter Park? It’s easy. Check out the list of opportunities below, fill out our volunteer application form, and tell us a little bit about your talents, interests, and experience. You don’t have to be a skier to find where you fit in at MWP. Opportunities await you!
Mary Dunphy has been a faithful MWP volunteer and this is what she had to say about her volunteer time during the 06-07 ski season: “Welcome all readers of SKIER XC-PRESS. I am one of the many volunteers that assist skiers with trail passes, map instructions, conversation, and other activities that make skier visits to MWP more enjoyable. One thing I like about volunteering is being able to ski when I am there. That way, I really get to know what condition the trails are in. Hope to see you participating in our volunteer program this season. Mary.”
Sign up now to join the MWP team as a VOLUNTEER! We have a variety of tasks that we can always use extra assistance with. Most require little experience or can be learned with minimal training. MWP volunteer opportunities can be personalized around your strengths and interests. You can become part of the MWP action and meet some wonderful people along the way.
Needs may be of a seasonal nature like preparing firewood, decorating for Christmas or changing outdoor signage. If you have an interest in a volunteer area not listed in column to the left, we still may be able to accommodate you.
Your volunteer time at MWP is a gift that is valued and appreciated. To Volunteer call 715-356-3309 or email skimwp@peoplepc.com

MINOCQUA WINTER PARK'S ADOPT-A-TRAIL PROGRAM For fun exercise, a service project, or to just be a part of the action at Minocqua Winter Park consider consider our Adopt-A Trail Program. Trail volunteers have the option of adopting a trail for just one day or taking on the stewardship of specific trails for a season. Without volunteer trail work, many trails would not receive the best maintenance they require. Trail adoption responsibilities include removing limb debris and loose rocks, cutting brush, raking trail beds, and reporting major trail needs to trail coordinators. MWP trail adopters may consist of individuals, families, or groups. Adopters may work at their own pace and schedules. Trail volunteers may need to provide some tools such as bush loppers, bow saws, and garden rakes. Certified chainsaw operators/owners may be able to utilize chainsaws under direction of trail coordinators. For more details about the MWP Adopt-A-Trail Program, email skimwp@peoplepc.com or call 715-356-3309. |
