Done!! My email has always worked fine, I changed nothing, and now I get these unable to move to trash error messages. Made sure to write everything down first before deleting work (Exchange) email account. What a relief. his comment is here

This can happen with IMAP accounts that require that the Path Prefix be set to INBOX. I don't know of any significant changes in the default Gmail app from 5.0 to 5.1.
