Cannot Create Hosts File Vista
Do you reckon I could link from my site to yours? When I gave the Users group full control of the file I was able to easily save it. The way I do it.Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and open the file with Notepad, (Right click, select Notepad and make sure that the option to "Always use this application to open this I was not allowed I got the message to contact the system administrator.I do not understand that as I am the only user on machine and I have administrator rights Left http://skimwp.org/hosts-file/cannot-create-file-hosts-vista.php

it says "cannot create the file, and to make sure tht path and file name is correct"... Yet I still get the Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file error. I just tried it on Windows 7 and that works, perhaps Windows 10 behaves differently. –HoD Aug 18 '15 at 14:40 I have also had this working in Windows I was breaking my head thinking what I was doign wrong.
