Cannot Delete Sptd Error
So I ran a CHKDSK (which took about 5 and a half hours), and that at least got it to the point I could boot in safe mode. dicktater12-02-2008, 05:51 PMDisable SPTD in registry, i.e. I have a file located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers called "SPTD.sys" I think it came from the daemon tools I'm using. Sptd.sys Blue Screen

They hang on SPTD.sys, or just reboot the computer. Sorry for the noob question here but do the kubuntu Live CD support NTFS out of the box ? Sptd.sys What Is It Can't get a repair console to run (no hard drive detected). This was one of the Top Download Picks of The Washington Post and PCWorld. Though i have to admit there's no big difference to Safe Mode.

- If you are unable to delete the registry, do change the permission on each sub folder under each folder.

To remove the driver go to the device manager. More about the author BIOS recognizes the new drive and windows starts to boot, but then I get a blue screen and the computer restarts. During an installation it communicates that it can't install a driver for a device. The message "Device driver installation failed" does not appear any longer during installation and at last it is possible to create virtual drivers again! so all these drawn me to the conclusion this is a corrupted file due to sudden computer shut down (lost electricity). I followed all the steps, and now i can see DT on my gadget :D.By the way, after u delete all the registry on x64, u should reboot first, then install EDIT: The last thing that it loads is MUP.sys, so maybe it is hanging on that?

I am of the opinion that doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is the very definition of insanity. I had to reboot before it would let me install (I kept getting the "failed to open service key" until I did).
