Thanks a ton! building the library took me clearly more then 20 minutes - my pc isn't even slow or anything and don't have all the file tags filled in or don't even use I thought I had a virus or something but the scanner didn't detect anything. Thought I would add this in case someone else had the same issue. Thanks for this! Upon re-launching media player your WMP should rebuild this folder with the defaults.
Had you written (as another site had) “\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player” it would have helped more but even here my name is not in place of "user" Why not just take the My PC is a new laptop running Win 7 (3 weeks old). No sooner did I delete all the files and started media player, the indexing started. i have my music in a non-standard folder, so i need to tell WMP which folder to monitor… but i can't do that because it doesn't even open that dialog. should i startWindows Media Player Network Sharing Service afterwards?Also window media centre sometimes freezes when i click to go into the libary more so since ive reorganized my music folders.
